As a relatively new resident of La Quinta, California, the founder of Spitfire Petite, a company less than a year old, and an ardent reader of Desert Golf & Tennis magazine, scoring my first editorial feature in that publication was a dream come true.
First off, they had me at the headline:
Spitfire Petite Delivers Big
And then this great subtitle:
These fashions may be proportioned to fit smaller women, but they’re long on style.
Spitfire Petite grew out of my life-long passion for sports and leading an active lifestyle or, as Desert Golf & Tennis put it, my “course-to-cocktails pastimes”, and the frustration of not finding sportswear that fit my 5’ tall frame. Still in year one, I connect with women every day that share my same frustration, some of whom have now seen the article and are wearing my brand!
Writer Diane Marlin-Dirkx also interviewed Karen Cantrell, the owner of Lady Golf in Palm Desert, who carries my line: “Amy has the best high-performance athletic wear ever. It’s meticulously designed to fit woman 5’4” and under, tailored with precision from neckline to arm-holes with a waistline that’s not only a good fit, but extremely flattering.”
I could not have asked for a better first article, and I thank all involved for their kind support.
