Amy Sport Announces Strategic Investment to Fuel Growth

Petite Sportswear Brand Strengthens Executive Team with New EVP of Business Development

Palm Desert, Calif. (May 8, 2019) – Amy Sport, a high-style, high-performance sportswear brand designed to enhance the active lifestyles of petite women, has announced a strategic investment by Patricia (Patti) Grundhofer, who has joined the company as executive vice president of business development.

Ms. Grundhofer will leverage her vast financial background to drive national growth through strategies designed to build distribution and sales. This investment and key addition to the executive team signals significant expansion plans for Amy Sport. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Ms. Grundhofer is currently the executive director of the John F. Grundhofer Charitable Foundation. She was formerly the president and founder of MeierGroup LLC., a firm that specialized in consulting and recruitment for banks, hedge funds and money managers.

“Patricia’s business experience accompanied by her extensive background in finance will help us drive profit and market share,” said Amy Lipton, president and CEO of Spitfire Petite, Inc. dba Amy Sport. “She understands how to build and orchestrate strategies that deliver results. The funding and her addition to our executive team is very strategic for sales and growth as we continue to expand into new markets.”

“Amy Sport has a powerful market potential,” said Grundhofer. “I look forward to working with this petite but mighty brand as it develops with its rapidly growing customer base. In this quest to fit petite women of all sizes, Amy Sport is well positioned for continued advancement.”

Amy Sport, a collection of sportswear, including tennis, golf and resort wear, entered the market to fill the gap of activewear meticulously designed for women up to 5 feet 6 inches tall. The company’s innovative performance and UV fabrics are sourced from Italy, Japan and the U.S., and manufactured in New York City and Southern California. Functionality is paramount with details and silhouettes designed to fit and flatter petite frames. Sizes range from XS-P to XL-P.

Amy Sport is available online, in pro shops and at select specialty store retailers.

About Spitfire Petite

Founded in 2016, Spitfire Petite, Inc. produces high-end activewear manufactured in New York City’s garment district and Southern California. The designs are specifically proportioned to fit and flatter petite women, fusing fashion-forward style and high-performance fabrics with meticulous details. President and CEO Amy Lipton is a long-term C-level global marketing executive, digital media pioneer and business development expert, who leads a very active and diversified lifestyle. She is an avid golfer, hiker, jogger and dedicated workout enthusiast. Out of her love of fashion, her passion for the sporting life, and frustration over the lack of petite clothing in the marketplace, Lipton identified a gap in the market for stylish athletic wear for women on the move who like herself are petite sized at 5 feet 6 inches and under. The line is designed to balance style with performance and each piece can be worn on the course, on the court, at the gym and even to work, or around town.
